I am currently back in Ithaca, working once again in the lab. We all arrived back in the U.S. on Friday (July 11) after traveling for very many hours.
I have to apologize for the lack of posts while in Kenya, which was the point of this blog! Unfortunately, we had some problems with the proxy server, the site not recognizing a Kenyan IP address, and so on. Furthermore, it turned out that we students had very little spare time, and it would have been difficult to get on the internet at all.
I would love to tell everyone about the trip, because it was simply amazing. Therefore, I am going to post a summary and some highlights of the trip here in the next few days (with some nice photos) so check again soon!

- I am a senior Ecology and Evolutionary Biology major in the college of Arts and Sciences at Cornell. I am really interested in the way natural processes such as evolution work to shape the world around us. I am also interested in the practical applications of scientific research. Outside of classes at CU, I have taught classes for Cornell Outdoor Education (COE) and I have led trips for Wilderness Reflections, a pre-orientation program for incoming students. I like to do pretty much anything outdoors, especially to run, climb rocks, bike, hike, and swim. When I'm not too busy with school and being outside, I love to read, draw, experiment while cooking, and sleep a lot. I grew up in Connecticut with my parents, my younger sister, and pet cats.

Hi, I'm not sure if you check this anymore, but I'm hoping that you'll get an email notification or something. My name is Kathryn Grabenstein. I'm a biology major in the College of Arts and Science with a concentration in either ecology/environment or Animal behavior/neuroscience.
